Helen Pennock

Helen J. Pennock of Bourbon, MO passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the age of 84 years.
Helen was born on August 3, 1924 to the late Frank L. and Minnie L. (Ratliff) Barnhart in Bourbon, MO. On December 24, 1947, Helen was united in marriage to Eugene F. Pennock and three daughters were born to their union. Helen and Eugene owned a cab company and a restaurant in Bourbon for many years. Later Helen was employed by Paramount Cap Factory.
Mrs. Pennock was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. For many years, she was a caregiver to her disabled grandson.
Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bourbon.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Williams and husband, Dean, of Cuba, Betty Walbrecht and Wanda Summers, both of Bourbon; six grandchildren, Allen Summers, Rebecca Meier and husband, Steve, Michelle Yocom and husband, Ben, Billy Walbrecht and wife, Amy, Melissa Wright and husband, Ardel, Mandy Storz and husband, Lester; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, Esther and Shirley; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; a stepson, Stanley Pennock; and two nephews, Edward and Wayne.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from the Eaton Funeral Home Bourbon Chapel with Pastor Ted Hurley officiating. Interment was in Gerth Cemetery.
