The Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit (FCNEU), Drug Enforcement Agency, and Pacific and Eureka Police were all commended this week following the seizure of a large marijuana growing operation in the home of a Pacific couple.
Authorities executed a search warrant at a home located off Judy Brook Lane on Thursday and recovered some 50 high quality marijuana plants and located a very elaborate operation in which three different types of plants were growing, taking up the full basement of the home.
According to FCNEU, two people, a man and a woman in their mid-20s, were taken into custody for investigation of narcotics charges. The two had lived in the home for more than six months.
Cpl. Scott Briggs, FCNEU, stated that the operation would harvest plants every 60 days and that the basement operation was setup in three different stages that included starting, growing and drying the marijuana.
The suspect allegedly informed authorities that the products were all for personal use.
The FCNEU commended the work by all agencies involved in the marijuana bust.
