Elsie LaVerne Fox of Bourbon, MO departed this life on Friday, May 29, 2009 in Washington, MO, having reached the age of 69 years, 1 month and 22 days.
Elsie was born in St. Louis, MO on April 7, 1940, the daughter of John Henry Bryant and Margie Perneica Bryant nee Davis. On July 4, 1962, Elsie was united in marriage to Yvone Wilbert Fox, know to most as Bill, and three children came to bless this union.
Elsie was a Christian and current member of the Grace Family Church in Union, MO.
During her working years, she was employed as a manager in the supermarket industry and had worked at various stores through the years. She also had her real estate license and bought and sold properties.
She was an outgoing lady with many hobbies and interests. She was talented in the art of embroidery, macrame and making ceramics. She loved to cook, especially for family gatherings. Elsie remained active throughout her life and was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Lori Fox of Bourbon; her son, Christopher Fox and wife, Mary, of Leslie, MO; three grandchildren, Shaun Webb and wife, Chrissy, of O’Fallon, MO, Brandy Rhoads and husband, Nathan, of Cuba, MO, and Christopher Winters, II of Bourbon, MO; seven great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Seth, Alex, Trenton and Callie Webb of O’Fallon, MO, Kaitlyn and Olivia Rhoads of Cuba, MO: one brother, Ronnie Bryant and wife, Rose, of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Betty Fedina of St. Louis, MO and Joan Brooks of Ballwin, MO; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews; great and great-great-nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margie Bryant; her husband, Bill Fox; one son, Robert Fox; three brothers, Jack, John and Toby Bryant; and three sisters, Laura Patrick, Doris Fedina and Ruth Eaton.
A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jimmie Montaigne and Michael Wood officiating. Interment was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
