It appeared that the Sullivan City Council had a light agenda scheduled for their meeting on Tues., May 5.
The council was scheduled to hear from Red Gamache, South Mansion, regarding a sewer connection and fee and Sullivan Fire Department for a parade request for May 21.
There were two ordinances scheduled for the meeting on Tuesday that included:
Ordinance 3340, sponsored by Alderman Tom Leasor, which would approve asphalt paving projects for the year 2009 with N.B. West, Sullivan, in the amount of $102,822.12.
Ordinance 3341, sponsored by Alderman Dennis Watz, would approve an application for federal assistance through the COPS Grant Funding Program for the purpose of purchasing a digital IP security camera system for the Sullivan School District at a cost of $119,982. This is a 50/50 cost share with the school’s portion being $59,991. The City of Sullivan/Police Department must sponsor the application in order for the school to be eligible for the grant.
Mayor J.T. Hardy was also scheduled to make appointments to the Franklin County 911 Emergency Management Board, Sullivan Public Library Board, and Planning and Zoning Board.
Hardy was also scheduled to conduct a special meeting prior to the regular meeting to appoint a new alderman in the Ward Two vacancy. The appointment was needed to place an alderman in Hardy’s former seat, which was vacated after his mayoral victory.
