The Bourbon Police Department is seeking public assistance in stopping a rash of vandalism at the Bourbon City Park.
According to Police Chief Don Taylor, several incidents of vandalism have taken place at the city park.
Taylor stated that vandals have pulled a drinking fountain loose from a wall at the park, tore open a display box and set it on fire and attempted to burn a light fixture.
Those responsible can be charged with property damage which carries up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine. If the damage is in excess of $1,000, those responsible can be sent to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Anyone with information on any vandalism, public or private, is asked to contact the Bourbon Police Department at 573-732-4838. Residents in the area of the city park are also asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
