The school board meeting was held on Thurs., Mar. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Middle School conference room.
To begin the meeting, adoption of the agenda was passed. Mrs. Pat Thompson and Mrs. Tammy Byrd recognized the elementary and middle school students that received medals in the GVC Math Contest and Knowledge Bowl Contest. The BTA representative, Traci Courtoise, gave highlights at the campuses.
Bills and salaries to be paid were approved in the amount of $683,404.94. The summer school application and the 2009-2010 school calendar were both approved at the meeting.
Dr. Sharp passed out brochures for the bond issue and presented information on improvements that will be possible with the bond issue money.
The regular meeting ended at 9:02 p.m., then went into closed session at 9:12 p.m. During the closed session, resignations were accepted by Jarah Politte as high school PE/Health teacher, softball coach and drill team sponsor as well as Deborah Lay as Spanish teacher, Junior class co-sponsor, and play co-sponsor at the end of the 2008-2009 school year.
A motion was made to offer indefinite teaching contracts to Erin Altemeyer, Laura Craig, Amanda Graddy, Eraka Kimker, Sonia McCurry, Andrew Reed and Vicki Welker for the 2009-2010 school year.
A motion was also passed to extend probationary teaching contracts to Amanda Bates, Jessica Becker, John Bunch, Matthew Burns, Brett Christiansen, Carrie Courtoise-Spoores, Jessica Crull, Tina Cunio, Kimberly Davis, Tina Gibbs, Elizabeth Hanes, Rhiannon Jett, Jon Johnson, Stephanie Jones, Matthew Ketcherside, David McGrath, Cynthia Muschany, Joseph Obermark, Mable Paquin, Christopher Reavis, Jamie Ridenhour, Chrisitina Sheffel, Kevin Sims, Pamela Snavely and Brian Witt for the 2009-2010 school year.
Closed session was adjourned at 11:30 p.m.
