At the last council meeting on Mar. 3, 2009, the proposed electric rate increase from the city’s wholesale supplier was discussed.
It was the consensus of the aldermen not to pass the electric rate increase on to the citizens of Sullivan. The aldermen feel the city can absorb the electric rate increase.
I am running for candidate Alderman Ward III and I support not passing the electric rate increase on to the citizens of Sullivan.
The citizens of this community have experienced unbelievable increases in sewer, water and electric rates and deserve some relief.
I would also suggest that you call your aldermen suporting their position of not raising the electric rate increase.
