Robert Lee Clifford Jones of Sullivan, MO departed this life in Sullivan on February 18, 2009, having reached the age of 59 years, 1 month and 4 days.
Robert was born in Washington, MO on January 15, 1950, the son of John Frank Jones and Gladys Marie Jones nee Richards. On March 18, 1972, he was united in marriage to Lenda Lou Rawlins and three children came to bless this union.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lenda Jones of Sullivan; three children, Robert Jones and wife, Rebecca, Linda Goode and husband. Walter, and Karen Jones and companion, Mike, all of Sullivan; one brother, Clarence Jones of Sullivan; seven grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Jones, and one sister, Maxine Baker.
Robert was a Christian who trusted in the Lord as his Savior. During his working years, he was employed as a steel cutter in the metal fabrication industry. Robert also worked as a self-employed mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and keeping his lawn mowed. Robert also loved to watch and keep up with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
Spending time with his family was very important to him and all the special times which they shared together will never be forgotten. Each of his grandchildren was his pride and joy, as he deeply cherished the time that they spent together.
A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Phil Turner officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO.
