Local history author, Sue Blesi who recently completed a 400-page book on the history of Stanton and Anaconda, is now working on a history of Moselle. According to Blesi, Moselle was a bustling community in its heyday and was the most picturesque village in Franklin County.
She would appreciate anything related to people, places and events, including old family photographs. Chapters will probably include Rogerstown, Early History of the Community, the Post Office, Businesses, Manufacturing, Mining, City Government, Churches, Schools, Transportation, Tragedies, Doctors, Crime, Military, Hodgepodge, The Real Ghost Town, and People of the Community.
The names of Moselle people who served in World War II and the names of mayors and other city officials who served between 1925 and the 1958 disincorporation are needed.
Anyone with photographs or information to share is asked to contact Blesi at 573-927-2772 or e-mail franklincountyhistory@msn.com.
