Firefighters were able to save a mobile home on Tuesday morning, Feb. 24, after a fire broke out under the mobile home, located off Highway H, at the home of Florence Price.
Firefighters were called to the home at 9:52 a.m., arrived on the scene at 10:07 a.m. and had the fire under control by 10:21 a.m.
“When we arrived on the scene, we observed heavy smoke coming from underneath the northeast side of the mobile home,” said Fire Chief Rich White. “The resident was out of the home when we arrived.”
White reported that firefighters were able to contain the fire underneath the mobile home and there was some smoke damage to the interior of the home.
“The cause of the fire has been ruled unintentional and appears to have been an electrical fire by a pressure tank,” said White. “We had 11 firefighters on the scene and used five apparatus to contain the fire.”
“The bulk of the damage was contained under the home and we were able to save the structure,” said White.
