Missouri S&T Observatory To Host Visitors’ Nights This Spring

The moon and Venus will be visible after sunset on Fri., Feb. 6, and amateur astronomers and curious skywatchers will be able to view them through Missouri University of Science and Technology Observatory’s 16-inch telescope.
The observatory will offer an opportunity to view the moon and Venus at 7 p.m. Fri., Mar. 6. There will also be opportunities to view the moon and Saturn at 8 p.m. on April 3 and again on May 1. Viewing is subject to weather conditions.
Built in 1973, the Missouri S&T Observatory is adjacent to the university’s Stonehenge replica on Highway 63 North, north of V.H. McNutt Hall and west of St. Patrick’s Lane.
