The Sullivan City Council met in special session on Tues., Feb. 10, approving a contract with Cochran Engineering for phase two of East Vine Street improvements.
The council met at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 5:35 after voting on the ordinance.
Ordinance 3316 approved a contract with Cochran for engineering design services and grant application for improvements to Vine St. The lump sum fee for the application is $5,000. If the application is not approved, Cochran will reimburse this fee. If the grant application is approved, the total amount of fee to be paid will be a lump sum fee of $59,864.
The city is submitting the project to the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council which works with MoDOT (Missouri Department of Transportation) to disburse highway construction funds.
The project is expected to be a “shovel ready” project that could meet the U.S government stimulus funds requirements for federal funding.
The city is also submitting the North Loop Rd. phase three and four projects to this program.
