The Sullivan Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet, entitled “Mardi Gras Magic,” will be held on Sat., Feb. 21 at the St. Anthony Parish Multipurpose Hall, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s awards will feature the entertainment of magician Tom Burgoon, with the many outstanding citizens, businesses and organizations recognized for their achievements in 2008.
The nominees and their respective categories were announced this week. They are:
Man of the Year: Sullivan Mayor James Schatz, Sullivan Fire Chief Rich White and Mike Delashmit.
Woman of the Year: Theresa McKinney, Susan Heath and Tiffany Weiskopf.
Young Man of the Year: Daniel Schatz, Colin Daugherty, Luke Davis, Matthew O’Dell, Michael Wyatt, Jordan Wengler, Luke Wells, Bradley Henson, Steven Becker, Carl Lawrence and Cody Davis.
Young Woman of the Year: Sabrina Braun, Hailee Parks, Rachel Coleman, Morgan Tiefenbrunn, Cassie Bloomner, Cheyenne Halbert, Kristi Rath, Brooke Brandt, Susan Brueggemann, Rebecca Corson, Marianne Emery, Jennifer Gaskill and Rachel Tolliver.
Beautification: Lowe’s, Northside Reception Hall, City of Sullivan, and Garden Club.
Entrepreneur: Ditch Witch and Chad Johnston.
New Business: World Finance, Arby’s, Pack N Ship, Etc. and Sullivan Journal.
Educator of the Year: Tia Lewis, Steffani McCrary, Patrick Burke, Dr. Jennifer Schmidt and Matt Wiegers.
Public Service: Chris Blanton, Randy Nolie, Chris Crump and Jared Schlueter for the “Haunted Woods,” Lou Emery, Val and Warren Kaemmerlen, Sullivan Fire/Toy Drive Open House Breakfast.
Tickets for this year’s event are $30 per person and can be purchased at the Sullivan Chamber of Commerce.
